Last of the Summer Sales

10th August 2009
As the summer that never really arrived finally begins to wind down, head to most high street stores and their online counterparts to catch the last of the sales. Shopping sales at the end of the season often means you benefit from the biggest markdowns, although the negative implications are of limited stock and less interesting pieces.
Mango’s sale includes a pretty ruffled off-the-shoulder dress at £15 down from £55, and assortment of LBDs and plenty off the feminine boho pieces Mango is known for.
At Warehouse’s website, you can be directed to their outlet site, where a further 20% is reduced from clothes until the 29th. The outlet site hosts clothes from last season at reduced prices anyway and is well worth checking out.
At River Island, many items have been reduced to £10 and so it’s the perfect opportunity to stock up on cute shoppers and shoes.
On the Oasis website, I found 114 items in the sale, ranging from structured bandeau dresses to baggy-chic harem pants. Though a touch more expensive than some other high-street stores, the Oasis sale is diverse in its items and is worth a look.
At Office, it’s the last week of the sale and there is up to 70% off, so if you need a last minute pair of gladiator sandals for holiday or need new flats for going back to Uni, here’s where to stop.
The Topshop sale is almost over, but the website has added a cute feature that allows you to browse the sale by your size, allowing you to easily avoid impulse purchases based on the excuse that you can ‘hem it in’ or ‘drop some pounds’ before the new semester starts. An added bonus is that while stocks last, Topshop will be giving away smart tuxedo-print canvas bags with every online purchase.
Check out the last of the summer sales to bag yourself some cheap and cheerful end-of-summer clothes.
