United's Involvement in the Transfer Market

Dundee United have kept themselves busy this summer with various signings and departures like Danny Grainger(United’s former left back) has signed a two year contract with Perth rivals St. Johnstone. The 22 year old commented on the lack of games he participated for United, “I want to play football every week and hopefully I will get a chance to do that here [St. Johnstone] “. Grainger moved to Dundee United back in January 2008 and managed 28 first team appearances .
Although, United have signed Rangers defender Andy Webster on a 1 year loan deal. The 27 year old played only ten games for Rangers within three seasons due to injury complications. Craig Levein promised Webster regular games with United, he has also represented Scotland’s B squad last season.
Dusan Pernis, 24 year old goalkeeper has signed for Dundee United and is expected to replace former Dundee United’s number 1 Lukaz Zaluska. Pernis is currently under contract with MSK Zilina until the end of December however United hope for his early release.
United’s keeper Michael McGovern has signed for Ross County. The 24 year old Northern Irishman spent a year with Dundee United having moved from Celtic. Also, United have recruited 37 year old Steve Banks as a player coach this summer as he replaces veteran Scott Thomson.
